Biomedical Summer Programme 2017

After the great success of the 2016 Biomedical Summer Programme Jersey College for Girls Foundation is pleased to launch an extended 2017 Programme. Targeted at students who are considering entering the fields of medicine, veterinary sciences, pharmacology, pathology, medical imaging or other biomedical fields, the programme will be led by experts from top UK universities, Jersey General Hospital and Durrall Wildlife Conservation Trust. Sessions will have an emphasis on hands on instruction and learning by experiencing the real world of biomedical sciences.



2017 Programme Content

• Surgical Techniques (Including performing a heart dissection)
• Pathology (including time in the Pathology Department of Jersey General Hospital)
• Pharmacology
• Biochemistry
• Medical Imaging (including time in the Medical Imaging Department of Jersey General Hospital)
• Veterinary Sciences (including a day at Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust)
• Careers and university application advise and exercises


Price of Biomedical Summer Programme:       £350 / student

Price includes all instructed sessions, off-site programmes, transportation, writing materials, drinks and snacks. Students are expected to bring a packed-lunch.



For international students, not from the island of Jersey, JCG Foundation would be happy to arrange homestay provision for the period of the summer programme, and advise on visa and travel arrangements.
